George Allen

George Allen, Panama City, Cloud 9 Orchestra, live music, Birmingham AL, big band orchestra, big band, fun, patriotic, Let Freedom Swing, Lakeside Baptist Church, Northside Baptist ChurchGeorge William Allen has sought to inspire others through the gift of song since his early beginning in the “Windy City,” otherwise known as Chicago, Illinois. His desire was to sing and play instruments with his older brothers, then called The Allen Trio—their contemporaries being The Five Stairsteps, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and an otherwise little-known group being formed in neighboring Gary, Indiana called The Jackson Five.

“I was born to sing, I find it so easy to express feelings through songs. It’s good to know that someone feels like you do.  I was always shy, but when the Lord took that away, I was able to enjoy seeing the expressions of others who enjoyed what I felt.”

George first sang as a special guest with Cloud 9 Orchestra for the 1st Annual Let Freedom Swing at Northside Baptist Church on July 2, 2011. Since then, he has been a welcome addition to the band, performing on four separate occasions. He continues to sing all over the Panama City and surrounding areas for churches, local restaurants, and with different bands.

George, along with wife (Barbara), lives in Panama City, Florida and hopes to see another generation of talented music lovers in the family. The Allens have four children and three grandchildren—“that’s a good place to start.” As you listen, you just might hear his heart.
