Harold Clendenin

Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Harold has resided in the Mobile area since the age of four.  After graduating Murphy High School, Mobile, AL, he continued his education at the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, attaining a degree in Music Education.  From 1959 through 1974, Harold was the Robertsdale High School band director.  He and his wife Carol went into business  operating a photo studio from 1974 until 1993.  Harold’s wife is Carol Blackburn Clendenin.  They have two children and five grandchildren.  Harold has also spent 29 years in the Alabama Army National Guard, retiring in 1996 while serving with the 151st Army Band in Montgomery.  Harold has been a member of the Robertsdale United Methodist Church since 1960 and has been a voluntary Choir Director for over 40 years.  Continuing his love for music Harold is still plays in several big bands, a Dixieland band and is a member of the Baldwin Pops Concert Band.

Harold feels he is now on cloud nine by having the opportunity of playing with the “Cloud 9 Orchestra” from Panama City, Florida.
