Luke Pinegar

Luke grew up in Arab, Alabama, a small town situated between Huntsville and Birmingham right in the middle of North Alabama. It was there his life-long pursuit of musical mastery began. After high school, he spent four summers playing twelve concerts per week at Noah’s Ark, the United Methodist ministry in Panama City Beach. On the stage at Noah’s Ark, he became known for his riveting stage presence and musical expressiveness.

Upon receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas, Luke moved to Panama City Beach to work full time at Noah’s Ark. Except for a sixteen month period in 1989-1990, Luke has been here ever since.  Something that sets Luke apart is the fact that he does a creditable job playing every instrument on the stage, and more. He has played with many performers both locally and elsewhere, and was a member of Straight Up, a local jazz group in the 1990’s.

Luke finds joy in playing with and listening to fellow musicians playing and singing at the impulse of the Spirit. Luke continues to work as Executive Director of Noah’s Ark where he helps direct a group of college students who perform nearly 120 shows a summer at Noah’s Ark. He also works with the musical groups made up of senior citizens who are a part of the winter ministry of Noah’s Ark.  Through it all, Luke has shown a spirit of humility and grace that is truly a reflection of God. He is a talented musician, and currently plays with the group “5 Central”, a local jazz ensemble.  He has two teenage sons, Lawson and Preston, and has resided in Panama City Beach for over 25 years.
