Dave Doescher was born in Northern Virginia where he began a life in music, starting in grade school and continuing through high school to achieve a B.M. in Saxophone Performance from James Madison University (‘07) and a M.M. in Saxophone Performance and Literature from Eastman School of Music (’09). At those schools, Dave’s appreciation for classical and jazz music grew and a proficiency on all saxophones, clarinet and flute.

Dave has had the pleasure of attending and performing at venues across the world including Rochester, North Sea, Montréux Jazz Festivals and more. Most notably, Dave held the lead alto position in the ESM New Jazz Ensemble, led by Dave Rivello, which received a Downbeat Award for Best College Big Band. Also, he enjoyed playing in the Element 114 Saxophone Quartet, Eastman Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz Lab Band, and the Dave Rivello Ensemble.

Lately, Dave has been teaching privately and at Addie R. Lewis Middle School, as well as performing with local music groups such as the Downbeat Jazz Band, the Red Bar House Band, the Gary Wofsey Sextet, and Jones & Company.
