Steve Collins

ALL BARI–ALL THE TIME!  Steve Collins is the owner of Collins Hornworks LLC, and works full time as a band instrument repairman specializing in saxophones. His greatest achievement and source of pride is his family with four children. Steve has played with The Tuscaloosa Horn Section since 1988, and has appeared with the Temptations, Four Tops, O’Jays, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Mary Wilson and the Supremes, Frankie Avalon, Marvelletes, Spinners, Slo Gin 60’s Revue, and Night Flight Big Band. He currently plays with the Power and Glory Big Band, Horndogs, and “Class of ’65.” He attended the University of Alabama where he played in the UA Jazz Ensemble and Million Dollar Band. Steve plays a 1982 Selmer Super Action 80 baritone sax, Berg Larsen 115/1 hard rubber mouthpiece and Rico Royal #3 reeds. His influences are Bruce Johnstone, Ronnie Cuber, “Doc” Kupka, and David Sanborn, with original inspiration from Boots Randolph.
