Tom Leonard attended the University of Florida as a music major and then joined the US Air Force Bands where he performed concerts around the world for 22 years. During that time, Tom was often a featured soloist on saxophone and flute in concerts at many of the major jazz festivals, including the North Sea Jazz Festival and Montreux Jazz Festival. Tom also was often assigned to lead Ceremonial bands, where he gained experience as a conductor. Tom has been married to Drema Leonard for 35 years.
