Martin Sager

trombone "big band orchestra" "Cloud 9 Orchestra"Martin Sager has been involved in music performance for 16 years. His first primary instrument was the baritone/ euphonium in high school in Marbury, AL. He started playing trombone two years later. While participating in his high school’s musical programs, he also played for local churches around the community. After high school, Martin attended Troy University, majoring in music education. He performed with various on-campus ensembles, including The Troy University Symphony Band, Jazz Ensemble I, and the Jazz Chamber Ensemble. Martin was a part of the Symphony Band’s recording project, “STORMWORKS Chapter 15: Whispers on the Wind”, composed by Stephen Melillo.

  He is a regular contact for local and university musicals and masterworks. He also plays for the local churches and events in the Troy and Dothan areas. In 2006, He started playing for a group called The Chris Hodges Band. In the last year, he recorded and wrote a few tracks for a so far unnamed, yet-to-be-released album. He is currently working freelance around the southeast for various groups and has been a seasonal performer for St. Columba Catholic Church in Dothan, Al for 7 years.
